Last updated: July 27, 2026 · Effective for breakthebait.com

Welcome to BreakTheBait. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of https://breakthebait.com (the “Site”).

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. About the Site

BreakTheBait provides educational content about cybersecurity awareness, online safety, and fraud prevention. The Site is for informational purposes only.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding agreement under applicable law to use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

3. Educational purpose and no professional advice

Content on the Site—including articles, checklists, FAQs, and fictional “virtual scenario” examples—is general education. It is not:

  • Legal advice
  • Financial, tax, or investment advice
  • Emergency response or incident-response services
  • A guarantee that you will avoid scams or cyberattacks

For urgent threats, financial loss, or legal issues, contact local authorities, your bank/payment provider, and qualified professionals.

4. Fictional scenarios

Some articles include composite or fictional stories to teach concepts. Names and events in those scenarios are illustrative unless we clearly state otherwise. Do not treat them as reports about real, identified individuals.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes
  • Attempt to break into, disrupt, scrape aggressively, or overload the Site or related infrastructure
  • Use content to build or operate attacks, phishing kits, malware, or social-engineering campaigns against others
  • Misrepresent affiliation with BreakTheBait or impersonate our brand
  • Copy or republish substantial Site content for commercial use without permission
  • Interfere with security, access controls, or Cloudflare protections

We publish defensive education. Content must not be used as a guide to harm others.

6. Intellectual property

The Site’s text, branding, layout, graphics, and other materials are owned by BreakTheBait or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may:

  • View and share links to articles for personal, educational use
  • Quote short excerpts with clear credit and a link back to the original article

You may not republish full articles, train commercial models on our content in bulk without permission, or remove attribution in a way that misleads readers about the source.

To request permission for broader reuse, email [email protected].

7. User submissions

If you send feedback, corrections, or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that feedback to improve the Site. Do not send confidential information you are not allowed to share.

8. Third-party links and services

The Site may link to third-party websites, tools, or resources. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Access them at your own risk.

9. Advertising

The Site may display advertisements (including Google AdSense after approval). Ads are provided by third parties and may use cookies or similar technologies. Ad content does not constitute an endorsement by BreakTheBait. See our Privacy Policy for related details.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that content is complete or current for every situation.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BREAKTHEBAIT AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON ANY CONTENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BreakTheBait and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or stop offering the Site (or block access) at any time, including if we believe use violates these Terms or creates security/legal risk.

14. Changes to the Site or Terms

We may update content, features, and these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when Terms are revised. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator’s primary place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction may have exclusive venue for disputes, subject to applicable law.

If you need this section customized for a specific country or company entity, contact us and we can update it after legal review.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

17. Entire agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and BreakTheBait regarding the Site and supersede prior understandings on that subject.
